Rinkaku Harigane

Rinkaku “Rin” Harigane (鎍 麟閣) is the main protagonist of the XCEL series, leader and founder of the XCEL Group. A teenage architectural prodigy, Rin is forced into a life of conflict after receiving the Ascension Blade from his estranged father, and makes a contract with The Architect in order to survive and achieve his dream of building a better world.

Appearance
Rin is a teenager of average height and a slight, athletic build. He has lanky proportions, little body fat, and overall bad posture. Rin has an attractive, angular face with deep brown eyes and thin black eyebrows. His eyes have perpetual dark circles around them from insomnia. He has a small, straight nose and thin lips. Rin doesn’t take the greatest care over his appearance; his black hair is unkempt and shoulder-length; he barely ever bothers to brush it properly. His back and shoulders are a sloped, making him appear shorter than he actually is. He slouches often when standing, and has a strange habit of perching instead of sitting down, like a bird.
Personality
Rin is an extremely determined, self-assured and deeply intellectual individual obsessed with his dream of becoming the greatest architect the world has ever known. (He’s not sure what exactly that entails, but he said he’ll realize when he’s there, and won’t stop until he does.) Fiercely independent, he is rude and aloof to most, and generally dismissive of most unless of direct interest to him and his goals. Dislikes his full name being used. Family and close-relations are generally a sore point, so expect some frosty treatment. Proud of his own accomplishments, but strangely dismissive to praise from others; enjoys teasing, hates being teased. Will spend hours talking about architectural intricacies if prompted.
Psyche
Potential: Rin has vast psychic energy potential—signature of his incredible mind—and a prodigal aptitude for the psychic arts. The sheer scale of his Further Plane’s foundations garnered notable praise from the Architect.
Control: Rin already possesses a great deal of control over his psychic energy, able to channel it effectively to reinforce his body and actualize constructs through his Specialty.
Offence: While not the name of his game, Rin has been able to reinforce his body in hand-to-hand combat to a proficient degree.
Defence: Rin is capable of reinforcing his body to great extremes, increasing his resilience against a whole manner of physical trauma. Feats include shrugging off a direct headshot from a Designated Marksman’s Rifle with only a mild headache afterwards, though even he considers that a fluke (one he’s more than happy to take credit for.)
Agility: Rin can empower his physical movements with psychic energy to a great degree, achieving superhuman feats of speed and acrobatics. He can artificially achieve even greater speed through his “Framerate” sub-technique.
Utility: Arguably Rin’s greatest strength. His Specialty allows for nigh-unlimited versatility in terms of battleground manipulation and constructs created, where the only limited is its user’s visual- and actualization.
