Gods are not kind to ambitious men. When a mere boy aspires to design a new, better world in their place, there’ll be consequences.

Rinkaku Harigane—reclusive, belligerent, teenage prodigy—dreams of being the greatest architect the world has ever known. He’ll get his chance when he receives the key to a dangerous ancient Egyptian ritual. Hunted by a supernatural cult under a thin corporate disguise, Rin must fight for survival against an existential threat to rescue his ransomed father, all for the sake of his dream.

THE LONG STORY

Five-thousand years ago, an Ancient Egyptian priest, the “Banished Disciple of Horus,” violated the natural order to seize the power of the Gods. The priest devised a supernatural ritual involving piercing the brain with a special blade to ascend the mind, forming a connection with an ambivalent cosmic deity known only as the Eye. This event wrought a catastrophic conflict, resulting in the Banished Disciple’s demise, the ritual knife split in half, and all the ritual’s secrets sealed away in his tomb, lost to time.

In the present day, Japanese archaeologist Katsuro Harigane discovers the tomb, having dedicated his entire career to uncovering this legend. The expedition itself, sponsored by the Japanese Parapsychological Research Organisation (JPRO), hides a sinister secret, which Katsuro discovers all too late. JPRO want the ritual’s secrets for themselves, to fuel their own conspiracy and create a new world order. Desperate, Katsuro steals the ritual blade from the facility and sends it, along with his notebook, to his only son back in Japan.

Rinkaku Harigane, a recluse and belligerent teenage prodigy, has always dreamed of becoming the greatest architect the world has ever known. However, the day he receives the ritual knife from his father in the post, his school is attacked by demonic creatures. Faced with no alternative, Rin uses the ritual on himself and forms a contract with a mysterious spirit known as “The Architect,” equipping him with the power he needs to survive.

Rin come to learn about himself and the world around him, gathering allies to fight back against an increasingly existential threat to thwart JPRO’s plot of world domination, and achieve his dream of building a better world.
